Why Did They Kill Lara Croft™

Does anyone know why Lara Croft was killed at the end of the final Tomb Raider? Is Eidos going to come out with a game similar to it... that's really the only game I played on the computer. Now, I'm little by little getting into cars and aircrafts.

Can some of you name some good airplane games aside from Falcon 4.0 and Top Gun, Hornet's Nest?

I guess Falcon 4.0 is as best as it goes as far as flight sims are concerned...Once you've play it, other flight sims just won't measure up.

I'm also into racing games like F1 2000, Superbike 2000, NFS: Porsche Unleashed etc...What racing games do you play, Tool??

If you like the TR games then you should love Heavy Metal FAKK 2. It's a similar style to TR with beautiful graphics and quite challenging.

Tomb Raider 5 is really coming out... I can'y believe that.

I play Porsche, and that's about it.

I'll try Heavy Metal.

Sorry, the last flight sim I played was TFX and Eurofighter 2000. Think Falcon is the best but some people seem to like the F22-series aswell.

The latest version of TR still has Lara "Dead". Von Croy and Pierre sit around reminiscing (sp) about her earlier adventures...this is what Tomb Raider-Chronicles is all about.

Supposedly a Mission/level editor is included on the CD and will allow the user the ability to design their own levels.

What it does it it signals the end of the TR series as currently known. A new, totally re-designed game engine is coming out, and Lara will be a character in the series, but not the main person - or so I understand it.

Love Lara, but she is getting a bit shopworn. You can only do so many things with her before it runs old. And now my son and his games have much better drawn and designed characters - female of course, that are giving Lara a run for her money.

Still, sorry to see it run its course, but I do enjoy the games!

vluc,
where did you get that information? Are you trying to say there will be a Tomb Raider game without Lara???

Mephisto...all I do is surf the TR web sites and gather what I see and hear across them. Like many, I am addicted to the TR games...not ashamed to admit that I am!

sites to visit are:
The Croft Times (http://www.ctimes.net/)
Lara's Temple (http://temple.ctimes.net/)
Raiderville (http://rville.ctimes.net/)
Visions of Lara Croft (http://volc.ctimes.net/)

Yes, the buzz seems to be that the time is wearing down. A TR game based on the movie is also supposed to come out when the movie does. Figure TR-Chronicles in November 2000, the Gold version of TR-LR where Lara does emerge from the egyptian tomb in May/June of 2001, then the game based on the movie also in summer 2001 and a new game engine already developed. Looks a bit like over-saturation!

Gunk - cute typo!
