Really? They make a diesel Corolla over there, eh?

The only common small diesel cars around here are the vw jetta and golf 1.9L TDI. Dads owns the diesel Jetta next to the rolla.

Driving in the snow is fun, if you have good tires! I love doing e-brake donuts in parking lots.

Well... well... how's this like a blast from the past :D

I'm still here... just been mad busy recently, moving from house to house like a mad man and working my a$$ off... it's been so long I don't even know if there's a swear filter here.

Anyway, I'm still driving the Rover and absolutely loving it. Got some 50mm lowering springs and shocks off a 220 Turbo going on next week. After that, some 282mm brakes from the MG ZS 180 to replace the 238mm solid discs that I killed today... nice to see smoke pouring from your wheels after a spirited drive

Eventually I'll probably rip the back seats out and replace the spare wheel with a can of tyre foam... should knock a second off my 0-60 time. Anyway, on with the pics...

I've got a lot planned for it... so watch this space ;)

P.S. I'm mainly over at OcUK forums these days. I've somehow managed to clock up 7,000 posts since April 2004! Crazy!

Andy that's one hell of a shine you got on the Rover's bodywork, what're you using? Meguairs/Zaino, something like that?

:D Not quite mate. Just some cheapo TurtleWax stuff.

I'll have to add, that it hasn't looked that good for a while. Thanks to kids in the street leaning on the car and me being lazy and taking it to the jetwash, it's incurred some scratches and blemishes to the paintwork. It really depresses me to look at the before pictures and see the car as it is today :(

Still, that's not put me off. I know it's only a 1.4, and people can mock me to high heavens, but I will get the car back to its former glory!

yeah I'm glad I have off road parking for that reason.

There is a black cat which sleeps on the bonnet of my car, but it doesn't seem to have damaged it. I used to shoo it away but I feel guilty doing that now as its quite friendly. It even jumped into my car one morning when I was leaving for work, fortunately it didn't put up a fight when I picked it up, as I didn't fancy having my hands clawed to ribbons :D

Have you tried claying it mate? I've heard it works wonders - will try it on mine when Spring comes around (apparently it takes a while!).

Nope Nick, I've not tried claying it. I was going to get some scratch-x and see what that does but there's no point now is there. ;)

Insurance is sorted, picking the new car up straight after work. All those that know what it is... shushhhhhhhhhhhh :p

Ouch...

Finally got around to reading this thread (been putting it off) and it hurts. I used to drive some beauties - a long list of proud beasts: spent way too many hours supin' up an Olds Cutlass (muscle-car, don't know the UK translation :D ) that got me into lots of trouble and fast fun back in the day - - my last hard ride was a Honda Prelude (tha Lude ) my frieds called it) V-Tech, a true import (not made in Illinois, etc.). ------------------then it happened  WIFEY and soon thereafter, my daughter. Tha Lude has no practical back seat (car seat for little one), so I had to (still hurts to talk about it  ) sell out and get a 4-door.
So now I drive a blah, underpowered, silver Mitsubishi Galant made in (you guessed it) the city of Normal, Ilinois (I kid you not).

Any wonder I've recently gotten into Computers.
If you read this whole thing - thanks for humoring me and my mourning........ :)
