Wacky Unreal Tournament d3d engine

Those of u that plays UT much and som on, have u noticed that UT's d3d engine is not that good?

I use 1152*864*16, all effects @ max, and surround support..

as soon as i turn the color depth to 32 bits i starts to perform bad... why? any updates out there? any fixes?

On q3 1153*864*32 with all to max runs just perfect...

yeah the UT d3d engine needs some work still... and openGL is ugly for me. Q3A is sooooo smooth. Nobody writes good d3d, esp. blizzard for diablo II...

well, I just switched to OpenGL - and its amazing. MUCH prettier and faster.
Here's how. Try following pretty exactly. The only change I made is to not precache.

Opengl ismuch sweeter looking if you use the S3TC enabled UT dll. With S3TC the graphics look so detailed you will be amazed.
