I've got two identical USB external HDD's, but cannot use them both together on my laptop: only one is recognised and usable.
Please advise me what the problem is and how I can overcome it so I can use both together.
Many thanks for your advice, CrVMo
Thanks for your replies. I've managed to solve the problem!
I opened-up Macrorit® Disk Partition Expert and found that the drive not being recognised in Explorer showed-up, but was "off-line".
Changing the setting to "on-line" made the disk visible to Explorer and it then worked fine in my system.
I didn't realise that when plugging a USB device in, it could be "off-line" and not function as expected.
Anyway, I've learnt how to resolve the problem so am now happy!
Thanks again for your replies,
