I have to option to buy 256MB of PC2700 RAM. Should I get Kingmax CL2.5 or TwinMOS CL2.5(Winbond chips).

I could not find any reviews on the TwinMOS with the winbond chips. Basically im looking for the most reliable and best quality RAM. The TwinMOS is slightly cheaper too.

The TwinMOS will get the job done, but the Kingmax has been shown to handle 180MHz+ (often times at CAS2) on default voltages- 2.5v. I would know, I have a 256MB stick of Kingmax pc2700. Another plus to this ram is the tiny BGA process. At high frequencies, this ram doesn't even get warm to the touch. Corsair had to add heatsinks to their pc2700 ram to ensure stability... If you do end up going with the Kingmax, could you post back here with the ram markings? I'm interested to know if your stick will have a -5 (for 5ns) marking. My ram says -7A.

I just ordered a stick of Kingmax PC2700. I couldn't decide whether or not to go with Kingmax or Corsair. I had read nothing but good reviews about both.

I will post back with my markings when I get it.

Wow ! sweet! I bought a stick of 256 DDR from my local P.C supplier, they normally only keep run-off-the-mill stuff when it comes to memory(various different generic brand each week)but my stick had a TwinMOS label on it! never heard of them before but I have now!!!!!

only paid £37 UKP for the CAS2.5 256M stick
