Simple Network Question (I hope)

Hi Guys,

I am currently using a simple wireless network to distribute internet access across from one bedroom to another. The problem is the distance. My dish is installed on the second floor while my bedroom sits on the the fourth floor. I cannot move the dish to a central location where the wireless router will be centered to reach all rooms.

Question: Can I use a port from my current router, lay a 50 meter cable to the other side of my house and connect another wireless router there?

Right now, I only have one D-LINK DIR-300 that was supplied by the ISP. I can run UTP cable from that point to my bedroom, 50 meters away and from where that cable terminates, can I just install another wireless router?

Is it that simple?

Your thoughts are much appreciated.

Cheers. :)

Thank you so much. I'm off to buy some UTP cable in the morning and will follow the instructions you provided.

Have a nice day. :)

What you are doing is essentially using the wireless router as a wireless access point.

Good luck. Let's hear how it goes.
