That was really dumb -not a PCI slot -but it must be different than agp so Im assuming that its something totally different -is it a much better slot?

PCI express is better than AGP, and I think the only video card that is only on PCIE is the 7800 GTX. And another thing is that you can put two video cards (Such as 6800s) that allow for the dual video cards in two PCIE slots, and connect them. I doubt you will notice much difference between a 6800 GT on an AGP 8x than on a PCIE :p Though, if you can, you should probably get PCIe, because as I said, newer video cards such as the 7800 GTX are only on PCIe.

Yeah, PCI-E is totally different. They say it's better, more bandwidth and such. As far as I know, there aren't any video cards yet that really take advantage of its potential, but it's been about 6 months since I looked into it.

Oh yeah, and there is that ability to run dualies like person said. Pretty much doubles your graphics power... assuming you have the $$$ to buy two vid cards.

Plus PCI-E cards are lots more expensive than their AGP counterparts.

I have a PCI-E on my mobo, but that's only because the mobo I wanted didn't have an AGP version.

I have the geForce 6800. Sad story about it... I accidently ordered the AGP 6800 originally. Realized I was an idiot when I first tried to instal it. Had to wait a couple weeks to send it back and get the new one.

its been proven sli doesnt give you close to double your graphics power, but its still much faster than a single card. that said, two 6600gt's arent even any better than a single 6800gt....
