The CD-RW was a new pull and doesn't have any documentation with it, and the unit is not marked for Master or Slave. The jumper is on the two pins at far right. Does this make it slave? I spent half the afternoon at Samsung's website {which was a complete waste of time} trying to get info, but couldn't even locate the unit model. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It's been my experience that the pins closest to the IDE connector are Master, Middle Slave, Closest to Power are Cable Select.

Thanks for the comeback, soniclos. This unit is configured:

::: |::::::::::::| oooo
jumpers ide connector pwr

The spaces didn't show up between jumpers/ide connector/pwr as I typed them. Oh well, you get what I meant. Click on edit to see it correctly. Thanks again.

Never had a drive like that but i would think it would be the same. I would just hook it up and turn on Auto Detect on both Slave and Master and see where it comes up.

I will use your suggestions, and if they are different on this unit, I can alway move the jumper till I get it right. Thanks again.
