Memory Warning - SPD not found

New Member
Anyone know what this means and how to get rid of it. I just got this 440BX motherboard. With 1 64MB PC100 SDRAM the memory check is fine, but I get a warning, SPD not found at DIMM(s) x. Where x is 1 if DIMM is in slot 2; 3 if in slot 1; and no warning if in slot 3. It goes away if a pair is used in slot 1 and 2, but 1 and 3 or 2 and 3 result in the same type of message. Is there something wrong with my MB?

Well, if it goes away if the DIMM is in slot 3, then use slot 3!

Maybe your motherboard installation manual has the DIMMS numbered wrong.

I also upgraded to a BX, but my instructions did not tell me what slot to put my 64MB DIMM in. I guess I picked correctly.

#3 bios, try changing the memory option to 8 n/s instead of "by SPD" under peripherals i should work
