is higher CFM better than lower on a case fan?

i'm looking at two case fans for my Enlight EN-7233.

1 fan is from 3dfxcool. Case80ho which says it is rated at 40cfm.

the other fan is from PcPowercooling. the Silencer 80mm. rated at 28cfm. (and 20db for sound)

for those of you using the Case80, is it noisy?

both are ball bearing.

also, would it be better to use the 3-pin connection from the mobo or the 4 pin from the PS (mine is only 250watts). i'll be running with an Athlon 700 on an AsusK7V.

thanks!

I have three Case80HO's in my case and there's not that much more noise than with an average case fan. Personally I think you should go for the Case80's, but if you don't mind a smaller airflow and rather have a whisper coming from your case take the silencer.

thanks for the info.

yeah...i hate noise as well...maybe i'll go with quiet, no OC'ing anyway, so heat really isn't a big problem .....yet

Try not to run it off your mobo if possible too

I've always been a champion for build it strong! Isn't more air flow better! I may be overkill now, but what about the future ure upgrade, and the heat of summer! Maybe you are not o/c'ing now, but what about later??? I have the cooling to EASILY handle any future upgrades!

Remember, heat kills!

As far as a supply for the fans, go with the p/s! It may be only a 250W but I am sure it can handle the current better than the mobo, besides all the power comes from the p/s anyway! I am not trying to be a blaggart, just stating the facts the way I see them!

watercooling...no case fans. one PS fan. 2 130mm AC fans. powered with a dimmer switch to control the speeds. run them slow they are quiet. I can hear my hard drives over everything else. even watercooling the video card.
