Are you guys aware of any I7 motherboard WITHOUT onboard sound?
yes I know I can disable the onboard sound if I don't wanna use it but for the sake of argument is there anything without onboard sound on the market?

Have you spent anytime looking?

Odds are you can find some server level mobo's without audio...But they probably have onboard video and require ECC ram etc....

I would go with the 100's of choices of mobo's and just disable the audio.

Interesting - it comes with a USB audio card... Money down the drain if you don't use it;)

Nope, I doubt it. Like with Ethernet, on-board audio is always standard on consumer-level boards.

I don't suppose a hammer is an option? No?

Ok, in that case, perhaps this pretty little thing:

Intel Server Board S1200KP

Oh incidentally I've been running that MSI Big Bang-XPower motherboard you mentioned earlier in my home system since January. Only good things to report here, so far. Only problem I had initially was finding a power supply with enough juice, or more crucially, enough connectors to satisfy the thing :p

(I ended up with a Corsair HX1000w PSU)

Nice mobo you've got there, Bink. Mind telling us the rest of the hardware? There's no need to be so modest... :D
