Yep, the rumors are true. AMD does indeed intend to do away with the ATI name, eliminating the "ATI Radeon" co-branding the company has steadfastly maintained since its acquisition of ATI. The firm briefed us on its plans late last week and explained several factors influencing its decision.

I guess they make a point though. If the AMD CPU's are to have built in ATI GPU's, it'd be pretty confusing having both ATI and AMD logos etched into the one processor :p

I dunno, its just some marketing thing IMO.

The Rock would say:
It does not matter what it's name is...

While getting an AMD video card sounds palatable to me, why settle for a Salisbury steak when one can get a juicy T-Bone steak instead? ;)

Well unless someone learns to write drivers that actually work I say good riddance! I am at wits end with them. This is why I only buy nVidia, as I almost never have problems with drivers and keeping them up to date.
