This is probably a dumb question, but doesn't the PEP66T sit on the proc sideways? In other words the fan blows to the side, and not up and away from the proc. Or are the pictures I am seeing represent it for going on a Slotket?
I've used my modified PEP66 with no problems for about six months now. It's one of the best, but it is a little expensive. The way the PEP66 fits on the Asus CUSL2-C will send air blowing towards your vid card (if your using a AGP card). It's best to have the fan blowing than sucking on the modified PEP66. I did some temp readings when I first did it and the blowing set up was a few deg. cooler and the added bonus of cooling the back of the vidcard! If your new and don't have alot of exp. in overclocking then I would hold off on the peltier for now. Air cooling is safer for your chip and mobo. But if you do go for the peltier I would suggest you get a programs like ShutDownNow! and motherboard monitor. It monitors the CPU temp and shuts the system down when it reaches a certain threshold. Nothin worse than toasting your mobo and CPU when the fan goes out. Hope this helps

I would suggest either the Alpha PAL6035 or the new ThermalEngine HS.
Both should be fine for the CUSL2 (I use the same MB, and an Alpha PAL6035)
The Alpha got me from 45-50C down to 39-40C at full CPU load. Keep in mind I live in Southern California so the ambient temp is 27-28C to start with, making everything that much hotter all around.
I have heard that the ThermalEngine is even BETTER than the PAL6035, but I have yet to try it. Looking at the design, it looks like a superior HS. Slotting the bottom of the HS not only increases surface area, but it allows more airflow to the PCB of the FC-PGA processor.
Either of these HS can be paired with a 38cfm 60mm fan. I suggest the Delta Black Lable if you can stand the noise this 7000RPM fan creates.
The best things to come out of Berkeley was LSD and UNIX. Coincidence? I think not!
