AMD is announcing a new re-branding structure for its video cards. The AMD Radeon R9 and R7 series will make up AMDs new video cards moving forward. Most are re-brands of current series GPUs, but two will be next generation. We will discuss each model announced with specifications and comparison.

Today, October 8th, 2013, AMD is announcing its new GPU branding; the AMD Radeon R7 and AMDRadeon R9 series of video cards. Products will officially ship on October 11th. But stop, look, and listen. The 290/x are nice, but they run so hot and are so loud!!! :eek: I might switch to team red once the non-reference cards come out.

I'd like to switch to green this generation. For some reason my purchase timing the last couple of generations has meant that I've bought AMD cards, it's time for an Nvidia card again.

Shame I did purchase a card after the rebranding. I bet there were some good deals as perfectly good cards sat on shelves under the old part numbers.
