AGP 2x & 4x problem

I have an ASUS CUSL2-C mobo, and it supports AGP 4x, which is set that way in the BIOS. I also have a Gainward Geforce 3 (plain GF 3) vid card.

While checking my system with Sisoft's Sandra 2001 Standard Edition, it reported that AGP was at 2x.

I have Powerstrip installed as well, and it shows AGP 2x, and when I try to change it there, it reports that the system board does not support it.

Any suggestions? Is there somewhere else I can check to see what my AGP setting REALLY is?

I have the latest BIOS for the motherboard, as well as the video card.

Thanks.

Steve

Apparently, they are no longer supporting NVMAX, so their site directed me to Guru3d.com and I downloaded Riva Tuner, it seems to be a good program. However, I can't find a setting to force AGP 4x.

But, I also was playing around with my system, and found that this effect seems to be related to overclocking the system.

I am trying to narrow down the FSB speed that forces 2x mode, but when I slow my system down, it reverts to 4x.

Maybe I should now post over in the overclocking forum. But does anyone know if this is typical of the AGP bus? What speed does it change to 2x? Or is this specific to my motherboard?

Thanks!
