    Thanks – nice review.

Not crazy about the error rate reading scratched CDs. I guess we have to wait to see if it will be able to do Mt Rainier. As of a couple days ago their site makes no mention of Mt Rainier where they really talked it up big in November before it was released.

If you can keep your head while others around you are losing theirs, then there is something you don't know

Slipe---I agree, the review wasn't near as promising as I had hoped. Maybe it will get better with future firmware updates.

It appears they are reaching the point of diminishing returns with recording speeds. CDRInfo got similar results with the 32X Mitsumi – only a few seconds faster than the 24X.

Plextor just announced a 40X burner it will release in February. They are already screwing up the 24X like they did the 12X. The ones that got tested were made in Japan. They are now selling Chinese builds with no fan and a TLA build that reportedly won’t do SD2. Daja-vu all over again. If you want a 40X Plextor get it right away before they screw it up. You don’t want to be the last kid on your block with a Plextor.
