    USB 2.0 questions

    Hi all
Does anyone know which PIV MOBOs support USB 2.0. And do existing USB 1 hubs and peripherals run OK with them.

    Cheers...

USB 2.0 boards are just hitting the market (I've read some Asus and other mobos reviews recently). Some manufacturers are also shipping 2.0 PCI cards as well (MSI comes to mind). As ris stated, 2.0 is totally backwards compatible with 1.1 specs (it will run at 1.1 speed though).

Do I get any advantages of using USB 2.0 hub with USB 1.1 devices? Now I have 2 USB 1.1 webcams, which cannot fully functional simultaneously(one activated camera occupates 60% of 12Mbits/s bandwidth and since that other one cannot be activated). If I used USB 2.0 hub, would the devices occupate on 12Mbit/s or 480Mbit/s bandwidth, so 2 and more webcameras could simultaneously work?

I believe USB 1.1 devices can each take 12mbps on a USB 2.0 line. So theoretically, your devices will all get 12mbps till you hit the 480mbps limit.
