HP LaserJet 4 Status.... Printer Opening?

I recently hooked up a Laserjet 4 to a windows 98 machine via parallel. This computer is on the network and sharing to one other windows 98 machine, and 2 windows 2000 machines. The windows 2000 machines worked fine at first, but after the users loged off and went to log back in on the next day, they couldn't print. It crashes their system and the printer status in the print spooler says that the printer is opening. I haven't seen this problem for myself yet, until I go into the office tomorrow morning. I just want to know if anyone has seen this so I know what I'm up against tomorrow. Let me know. Thanks a lot. By the way, the win 98 machine prints just fine. Thanx.
    Chris.

    If applicable,
You may want to set the parallel port setting to EPP.
