Problem with hp 930c printer
PLEASE HELP!!!...I have a HP Deskjet 930c Printer connected via USB.
It's been running fine for the last 12 months, but when i try to print a doc now it will only print the first few lines then stops functioning, the power light is still on but it will not let me feed the paper out unless i switch it off and on again. My computer will then after awhile give me an error message briefly saying printer my be offline unable to print. All computer functions then seem to slow down regards opening files etc, and will freeze or fatel error messages pop up.I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the original and new version usb drivers to no success. The only change to the computer system in the last few weeks is ive installed a network card for cable broadband internet. Unfortunatly im not sure if the printer had this problem before or after, its the first time ive tried to print in 3 weeks.Any help would be very gratefull. Im running win98se

You need to have a tech. or HP Service provider to clean the ink reservoir of your printer. The 890 or 900 series HP printer have design flaw on their ink residue reservoir or ink cartridge parking station. They design it above the feeder motor and the residue will stay first on the motor rod and build a mountain of sh**t that will hold your motor to function properly affecting the paper feeding when it dried.
I never have such problems with my old 850Cs but with my new HP 900 series deskjet printers, I have to clean it every six (6) months. and more often if I use refill cartridges.
Take note: refill cartridges(mostly black) will spit more residue compare to original cartridges.

But ive allready illiminated the printer itself from the problem..I took it and installed it on a friends pc and it all works fine.

going back to your system, uninstall and removed the network card, uninstall the printer driver, reboot then connect the printer and post the results here.

Ive tried the following :-
1 New USB cable
2 Install my printer on another printer (worked fine)
3 Swop USB ports
4 Latest Drivers
5 Hp website help
6 Hp help lines and email
7 no triangles bubles and any other error symbols are listed on the device manager
8 no conflicts listed
9 Reports all devices working properly
10 remove network card and start from scratch
Id first like to Thank every one that has taken the time to try and help... THANK YOU.
I have bit the bullet and purchased a parellel cable and connected it through my scanner and all works fine but you can tell the difference in speed also it wont run unless my scanner is switched on / which is not really a problem except it has not got an on / off switch and climbing under my pc desk to disconnect the plug every time I want to print isn't an easy task.
So please keep me in mind if you do find an answer to the usb connection and let me know.

Latest changes to system were connecting to ntl broadband.
1. a 3com network card but my pc would not start it get to windows then reset and keep looping. So chucked it
2. a Realtek network card which works fine
3. Zone Alarm Pro v.2.6.362 works fine
Unfortunatly i had not tried the printer duing any of these changes so i dont know what upset it.
I can tell that if i connect my usb mouse next to the hp usb,it crashes with the printer and where else its fine( it was allways next to it originally).
Just a quick reminder of the printer problem, it will usaully print 1 page then when i try again it will print 4 lines this is the same every time...

Sorry for the delay in repyling but i lost my control of the keyboard when i tried this and it took me a while to get it back.
Anyway i gave it a go and nothing happened except the print error message stays on till i plugged usb back in. Then it would still give the same message but takes a min to pop up..so basicly the same before.Oh and as i said before it knocked out my ps2 keyboard.
Error mesage:-
usb printer hp930c/(some no.)is not ready it may be offline.try again or cancel.

I checked out this web address you gave me. But this info does not apply, It only covers printers that do not print at all or shows blinking error lights. My printer is not blinking. Also it will print 1 page and 4 lines of the next then stop. And i have to restart my pc to get it to print some more. I have also removed all usb devices from my pc axcept the printer to illimenate any usb conflicts....no joy.
