easy cd creator 5 Help!

I've just installed it in my w2k system but failed to function.
Error message is 'device is reserved by other process. 0x8000001a'
I'm using Ricoh cdr recorder (7200a) 20x10x40

Brief history of the burning software that I've installed:

installed creator 4.01 (w2k not supported)
update to 4.02 & 4.05
update to direct cd3.01 (I think or higher)
install cd maker
install clone cd
uninstall all of the above
removed relevant files in system 32 (suggested by roxio faq)
install creator premium 5

Any help will be appreciated.

Update EZCD to 5.02c. With version 5 you don’t have to do a separate update for DirectCD.

Update the firmware for your Ricoh.

Sorry, make a typo error, I've already installed 5.02 & it doesn't help.

I really curious what that error message is refering to, hope someone can explain it.

There is 5.02, 5.02a, 5.02b and 5.02c. If you have 5.02 you are three revisions out of date.

With Win2k you really want the latest firmware.

Once you get the latest software and firmware and are still getting the message: Highlight the burner in device manager and remove it. It will reinstall it with new drivers when you reboot – fixes a lot of little glitchy problems.

Then again you could spend the rest of 2002 contemplating your navel and pondering the deeper meaning of the message God sent you through your burner.
