Problems burning a CD with my Waitec Shuttle

When I try to burn a CD with my Wautec Shuttle 8X everithing seems to be OK until when the system crashes (sometimes the PC turn off!!).

I have the CDR in the secondary IDE as e master and a DVD in the same channel as a slave.

If I have a small amount of data I can burn, but If I have for instance more than 100 MB everithing crashes....

What can I do?

I haven't heard of that brand before. What wattage is the power supply? You probably need a higher wattage power supply because your current power supply isn't powerful enough.
Make sure to close all programs and disable antivirus software before burning cds. Defrag the hard drive as well.

I have a 250 V.
My PC contains an Athlon 1.3, 256 RAM, HD 7200 rpm, DVD.
The crash happens even if I defrag the HD and without any relevat application running.

If you have a Via chipset get the latest 4 in 1 driver update: http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=2

Some folks have bus problems burning with Via chipsets and the driver update sometimes helps.
