A friend bought a portable burner for a laptop. It came with the PCMCIA adapter and a portable power converter unit. Everything fit nicely into a special heavy duty nylon carrying case. It was an 8X recorder which is not available in USB to the best of my knowledge. You can get Firewire externals up to 10X and SCSI to 12X but USB still seems to be limited to 4X for reasons I donít understand, as the USB bandwidth should support a much faster burner.
