Real high-tech CD-R question

Can anyone tell what I can use to write on my CD-Rs??? I bought a boat-load of Imation 16x CD-Rs. They're great media but they have a metallic finish covering the entire back side. Markers leave only a ghost-like script that I can just read. I used to have some S&F CD-Rs that had a more porous substance laminated to part of the back side for labelling.
Can anyone recommend anything? This is getting kind of pathetic...

Head into a office supply store, they should have fine tip, waterproof, permanent markers that works on the annoying CDR disks.
I have used the Staedler brand with success fighting with the Maxell CDRs.

Use a good permanent marker, and do not use a ball point pen or a pencil. Non-permanet markers may not work right, and may rub off easily (which may be good for CD-RWs).

I use a Sharpie. It isn't very elegant, but it does the job.

Ditto on the Sharpie. I like the strong black it leaves, but it is not a very fine point compared to over-head pens.

Just get a fine-point permanent marker or over-head pen from the stationary store.
