    74 or 80 minute cds?

i know it sounds like a stoopid question but i get reject (label is stuffed) cds for a few cents and noticed some are 80 min cds, are there any distinguishing features (visually) that i should be able to notice or is there a program (apart from blind r/w, cos that requires having a cd image ready)that can tell me exactly howmuch time (in mins:sec) or exactly how much data i can fit on that cd. thanks for ya help, i'll keep checking up on your answers

Most programs are able to report how much space a CD-R/CD-RW has available on it. I'm certain Nero, WinOnCD and CloneCD can all do this and i'd imagine most others could also.

But if you just want to know how much an 80 min CD can fit, it's 700Mb. 74 min CD's fit 650Mb.

Tell me where you buy reject CD blanks for "a few cents". I use heaps of them and the best I can do is about $1.10.

    Cheers...

i know if i say, there won't be any left for me once people find out, but i will anyway cos im a nice bloke :P ok, i get them from a car stereo place called strathfield car radios, im sure you have heard of them. the cds have the strathfield logo printed on them, and they only cost me 69c last time i looked, its afair bargain, i've burnt numerous things on them and they all have worked, i've only had a few frisbys, only though my computer being verry crap and me knocking the table my computer sits on a litl bit too hard

I think Strathfield Car Radio is big enough to handle a couple extra customers after blank CD's

JB Hi-fi have pretty good prices on blank CD's as well. May be worth a look...
