    scanner freezes system

    I am assuming that when the scanner is used & freezes the system that it means an IRQ conflict, correct? If so, could someone tell me how to correct this?

    could be software too. If you have 98SE and an AMD cpu this MS patch may help. http://support.microsoft.com/support.../q240/0/75.asp

    Have you uninstalled the scanner driver software and reinstalled? If you have, try uninstalling it again. Do a search for TWAIN and delete anything you find. Then reinstall the software. Often the TWAIN driver becomes corrupted and the uninstall will not remove it.

    Try Don’s linked patch first if it applies to you.
