    Mouse 'Jumping Around'

Had a machine - loose screw.. checked the machine and returned when working okay.. now the mouse is 'jumping around' the screen. any idea? it used to use a 'Browser Mouse' application, which i uninstalled. i think it might have a short on the board now. Any ideas - i need diagnostic software to download that will test the hardware components ie board cpu ram drives cards etc.
    Urgently required.. please help..

I went to the customer, removed that mouse (Arowana) and replaced it with a Genius NetPro mouse. It worked fine, I installed its driver.. and there was an error in event viewer saying that 2 drivers were conflicting, -Driver c8042prt with device \Device\KeyboardPort0 ... i uninstalled the mouse driver, and then an event viewer message came up saying a device... hadn't been loaded..
    i reinstalled the driver.
no error message, but same error in e.viewer.
finally i just uninstalled the mouse driver, and changed its driver to the standard ps/2. the scrolling still worked.. no errors. all was fine again.
