My mouse has just broken and i'm not sure why.
About a month ago my MS Intellimouse bust and and I had to use some ergonomic failure though lastnight it stopped responding. I turned the computer off and blew into the plug and socket and it worked when I turned it on. This morning however I turned it on and Win98 didn't detect a mouse. Why is this, is it the motherboard (everything else works fine) the ps/2 plugs the socket or Direct x. Please Help
You'll have to eliminate each possible suspect one by one. Try the mouse on another machine for a few hours to see if it works OK.
If you get no further, try someone elses mouse on your motherboard.
After you've done this, you should have a pretty good idea of which thing isn't working right. If your motherboard (or computer) is still under warranty, get it fixed, as you can't really do much without a mouse.
