SideWinder 3D Pro isn't detected by some DOS games
I have a slightly old (well, 4 years, anyway) SW 3D Pro connected to one of the computers here. However, a few DOS games (if specifics are needed, I'll name them at the bottom) refuse to detect the joystick. It works fine when I try to calibrate it in Windows, but the DOS games don't even know it's there.
I'm using Win95, and the joystick is connected through a Sound Blaster Live! Value card.
The games I'm having problems with are Descent and Descent II. I doubt anyone else plays them, but never mind.
try the switch on the bottom of the joy stick. i have the same stick and have played both games you mentioned... i beleive i used position 2 (2 dots) also i used the free utility that i downloaded from microsoft that allowed the base buttons to be used with games that normaly didnt support those buttons. sorry but i cant remember the name of the program...look around in microsoft...it'll be in there.
hope this helps
