    Fastest SCSI drive

    Getting ready to buy 18.x gig 10,000rpm SCSI disk drive. Which one, Seagate, Quantum, etc, and which SCSI adapter.

    Dunno about the drive but you MUST get one of the new Adaptec **160 160MB/S cards - they auto-negotiate with your slower stuff so everything runs at the optimum speed. They're also cheaper than the existing **940 cards .

    yeah definately go with the new 160 cards.....either the 29160 or the 29160N.

    As for hdd's, I'd go with an IBM Ultrastar SCSI 10000rpm.

    I'm about to buy one of those and a 29160N card for my next pc upgrade.
