MS Intellimouse Freezing

I have re-build PC with Tyan Trinity 400 S1854 M/B, Pll 350, 128ram, seagate barracuda 7200 ata 66, tosh 8xdvd/cd drive, aureal vortex sound, geforce ddr on Win 98SE.
However, half life, driver and some windows apps appear to freeze mouse pointer resulting in re-booting.
I have install VIA drivers, ie irq and agp drivers, latest geforce drivers and mouse drivers for my 1.1a intellimouse to no avail


Any ideas, before i go back to the basic mouse.

Not 100% sure on this but here is a possible solution (worked for me 4 days ago!)

Select "Intellimouse" from pull down
Select "Specific Article ID Number"
Search for document #Q185663

Thanks Wind Fall, will give it a go, colleague of my suggested checking directx drivers and upgrading to 7a as 7 is bugged, I think I'm on 7 at present.

I think it may be that the GeForce card is overloading your power supply as once it gets into a game it becomes a power hog.

I could suggest a lot of stuff but it's easier if you look at this site which has probably helped a lot of people:
