When I boot up with my external modem (Diamond SupraExpress 56E Pro) switched on, it initialises just before going into Windows and I lose:

1. My Documents icon in Windows Explorer

2. The "new" menu when you right click in explorer or go to file menu

3. The "File Types" tab from View>Folder Options in Explorer.

I know it's the modem because if it's turned off when I boot up, the problem doesn't happen.

You can turn it on once into Windows and go on the Internet fine etc.

It's not really a major problem but I was wondering if anyone else has this modem and the same problem?

Using Win98 (first edition, but I tried it on second and the problem was there still).
