I'm computer illiterate and I'm looking for an affordable scanner. I read in a computer magazine, that this scanner (Visoneer PaperPort One Touch) was an excellent scanner for the money. I will not be performing any intense graphics applications. I have a 350 mhz PII, w/win98. Any suggestions?

The OneTouch 5300 USB version is working fine for me. A little bit of simple OCR, non-intense graphics, nothing mission critical.
Im definitely not a power user when it comes to scanners. I think I paid about $150 for the scanner and it was a pretty good deal. Its definitely a cheap scanner.
When I say cheap, I mean a good deal. I dont mean that it sucks. Im happy with the 5300 USB, kinda makes me wonder what kind of extra features people are paying for when they drop $400-500 for a high-end scanner.
If this is your first scanner, get a cheap one. Go for killer quality on your next scanner.
