Modem Hangup?

I have an ATI Supra Express ISA v90 modem which loses it's connection to my ISP all the time. It connects at 50 bps and I would like for it to connect lower because of errors and hangups. Does anyone have a modem string I could try or some other advice?

If you are running windows try setting the max connect speed down to 38.8. You can do it by going to the modem properties screen on the "my computer" properties. You might want to turn down your recieve speed before you turn everything down. That is under advanced properties.
