Acer CD Rewriter compatibility problem
I have an Acer 6206A CD Rewriter, running in W98. I am using Adaptec CD Creator software supplied with the device.
Until recently, I was running a PC Chips PII motherboard, and the device was working fine. The mother board uses the XCell chipset. I have since changed the motherboard to an Intel SE440BX2 which uses the Intel BX2 chipset. The CD rewriter has now stopped working. According to Intel, the Acer 6206A rewriter is not compatible with the BX2 chipset.
I have also tried it with a Gigabyte mother board, running the BX2 chipset. Same problem.
Does anyone know how I can fix the problem?
I would appreciate any assistance .
