    HP Scanner / Symbios Problem

I recently upgraded my system to an AMD K6II-333 using windows 98. I have an HP Scanjet 5p that was not working under this system, so I purchased the Windows 98 drivers. The system still fails to recognize the Symbios SCSI card (ISA).

The card is detected during the initial boot, and assigned IRQ 4. Windows recognized the presence of the card and installed drivers for it, but the device manager still indicates that the device is not found, the drivers are not properly installed, or that the drivers need updating. No resource conflicts are noted. I uninstalled the existing drivers manually and made sure that the drivers were installed from the new cd. I also tried moving the card to another slot, to see if that made any difference. Finally, I have tried adjusting the resources. I am at a loss.
