I have a pc100 64MB simm. All was fine until one day on startup my computer decided that I only have 32MB. I moved the simm into another slot. My computer then started up with 64MB but it crashed and has come up as 32MB ever since.
The chips on it are MK5264805T.
Did I get sold one of those cheap and nasty black market simms?????
maybe a chip has died on the DIMM. I had a 16MB SIMM ages ago and suddenly it could only access 9MB. I hope it's still under warranty. Generally once RAM stops working, you won't get it working again! It's either 100% reliable, or it's worth $0. Not like M$ operating systems which are still worth money even when they never worked to begin with
