    HP 1500Cse Scanner

Having problems with green light coming on.
I have set up the scanner 4 times exactly the way HP has stated on its "setup poster" and cannot get the computer to accept it.
The printer (HP 722C) works fine, but the scanners green light will not light up and I keep getting this red X over the icon in my start up tray.

    *I have unlocked the scanner
*I have downloaded and installed Win98 drivers (Using Win98)
*I have loaded the drivers before hooking up the scanner

I am considering buying a 1 to 2 serial cable
will this fix the pass through problem?

    Matt

    Pat,
Stupid question : is a parallel scanner or dedicated scsi ?

if parallel make sure the LPT port in the cmos is set to EPP only and the I/O and IRQ match what win 98 says in device manager.

Also make sure you have the latest drivers from HP. There is an update driver for problems with Win 98

Hope this is of some help
