Yamaha CDR200t -> CDR400

I heard someone write about an operation on his CDR200 from Yamaha, which consist of cutting a resistor to make your 200 a 400 (and write 4X).

Is someone done this operation ? Is it really work ? If it does'nt work, can I cancel that ?

The gain is not that great even if you could, this is not recommended. If it writes & read well leave it alone. :0
