Tweaking the bios on your card
Just so you guys know that it can be done without mishap, I found some very good info at this site
http://www.x-bios.3dgames.ru/index.php
on modifying the bios on my Gainward Geforce3 Ti200. I wanted to lose Nvmax (the less programs running in the background the better) and wanted to do two things. 1) overclock the core and memory from the card's bios and 2) enable sidebanding.
Using the tools in their "downloads" section, I was able to copy my current bios and save it. Then adjust the appropriate settings and reflash it. It worked like a charm without any side-effects whatsoever. But, as always, proceed at your own risk. Just because it worked for me doesn't me you won't have trouble.
