I am only going to spend between $60 - $80 right now, but I'd like to upgrade something. I feel I already have enough RAM and I'm not too sure if I wanna upgrade my CPU, my sound card is an older Diamone Sonic 90, could (should) be replaced and my GeForce is gettin' pretty old.
What do you suggest I place my money on???
Hard drive? Video Card? Sound Card??
And Where can I get the best deals????
Thanks in advance

Well, you didn't tell us what you like to do with your machine. If it's a lot of games, then I would go for a new Geforce2 GTS. I bought one last week at newegg for $70 after shipping. After that I'd get a new CPU.
Definately GTS. I see you asking around about the GTS-V. I just realized that I bought that card not paying attention to the 'V' . Oh, well. It's going on a system that's not doing much anyway. Anybody know the real difference between it and a standard GTS?
When it overclocks it clocks to the standard GTS core/memory speeds, that's the nice thing about he card. So you get a regular GTS for half the cost.
I'm gonna get it next week, and than sell my old GeForce on Ebay (those people will bid up to $30 - $35 on it) and buy a SB Live so I'll get 2 upgrades for cheap.
Thanks for the update!

I don't know the rig sound well balance. The 256 is a good match for a Celron of that speed. A sound blaster Audigy would be good. I would not get a new hard drive unless you really need the space. I always like CD R/W. You can get a nice 12-16x for under $100.
If you upgraded the GeForce to a GTS you would see only about a 30% faster card, plus the Celeron would hold you back a bit. A GTS runs good for an Athlon 800-1200Mhz CPU. Beyond that you need a GeForce3 Ti200. The MX is the same speed as the GeForce DDR. The extra memory is wasted.
A new CPU would be nice, but the cost of a PIII is a bit much. You might be able to get a new Slotket and a Celeron 1.2Ghz for pretty cheeap though.

hmmmm, maybe a new game than.....
or some games for my dreamcast.....
or a keg of moosehead.......
or a new shirt.....
I guess a sound card might do well, and I've been weighing getting a nicer one, this one's hosed and doesn't have EAX, and is too CPU dependant...I just want ot get Aliens Vs. Predator 2 to run better, damn game is a resource hog.
Runs about 30 - 35 fps at mid level, but that's sucky for me. Feels like my system is really getting outdated, but it's hard to spend alot of money updating a system when you have a wife and 3 kids.
I'll look into it.

Naw, I already made up my mind last Friday, but you gotta admit, I keep getting different ideas all the time. pretty funny.
I made a decision and it'll work out fine.
First CPU to 900 Celeron, overclock it as high as I can, hopefully to a 1/4 CPU/PCI multiplier, and than my sound card. Next month I'll upgrade my video card, but I think that'll be about the extent of the upgrading on this computer. Anymore and I'll just purchase a new one.
