Adjust the brightness of the movies?

I think I've seen a similar topic to this one before, but I can't find the exact one. I'm looking for a way to adjust the brightness of the movies (videos) on my screen. I'm using a Herc. 3d Proph. III Geforce3 Ti200. I tried to adjust it using the normal color correction tool of the card, but it only changes the brightness of my desktop, the videos are not affected! Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure, but you might want to try the brightness controls on the monitor.
