    Flickering Screen

I'm having problems with my screen flickering while i'm trying to play games. I have made sure the refresh rate is correct. Do you think it could have something to do with the psu not being big enough. It's 250w and I'm running an Asus A7V, T-bird 800, Geforce 2 GTS, soundblaster live, and then 2 cdroms and 1 hard drive. Thanks

It could be the PSU ,looking at your PC specs. But it also could be some other problem. Does it only happen when you play games? If so then it could another problem. Like something wrong with DirectX perhaps. Try reinstalling DX.

Yes it does only happen during games. It does it on pretty much all games. Some worse than others. I just updated to DirectX 8.1a and that didn't make a difference.

What kind of flickering is it? Uniform flickering, lateral "tearing", on-and-off switching, a slight picture instability or do only parts of the screen flicker in games?

Could be one of a number of things.

    MuFu.

P.S. Jeez... really went off on one there, didn't I?

It's kinda hard to explain but it's only certain parts of the screen depending on the game and what part of the game. Some parts of the game don't do it at all. In Madden 2001 it doesn't start until you choose your team then almost the whole screen starts jumping around. Once your on the field it's only the top half but not in a straigh line. In Motocross Madness 2 its more the bottom, but like I said it's kind of a crooked line but once it starts doing it's always the same. It doesn't do it in all games but most.

I finally figured it out. It was the drivers. I finally got the Detonator XP's to install without causing tons of problems and the flickering went away. What a relief.
