I recently built my in-laws a PC using an Abit SA6 board and Siluro MX400 AGP card. All parts are brand new. Using the drivers that came with the Siluro, the Start button is garbled graphically, and upon clicking on it, when the menu pops up, there is corruption where "Windows 98" is displayed along the left side of the menu. This is basically the extent of the problem from what I've observed.

I suspected the drivers, so I uninstalled them and installed reference drivers (12.41, which I've had no trouble with at home on my MX). This didn't resolve the issue. This problem can sometimes be alleviated by rebooting, but then returns on a subsequent reboot. I've never seen anything like this, so I'm stumped as to what to try next. The monitor is an NEC Multisync 95 (also new), if that matters.
