Please help with Viper 770

I really need some help with my Viper 770 32 Meg video card.

Ya I'm stupid and don't have a clue what I'm doing.

I don't understand how to set it up properly for the games I have.

I don't know what the Sync thing is or the Anti-something or anything to do with the card. When I got it I didn't get any information on what these things do so I don't know how to adjust them for each game.

I have the game Driver at the lowest settings possible and it still stutters. The game NFS Hot Pursuit works fine when I'm playing alone but when I connect with someone else it will lock up either during a race or right when its finished and I have to hard boot to get my computer working again. The game BladeRunner is a total mess. The graphics are so boxy its just terrible to play.

Can someone help me with setting up the card and understanding what each of the functions do?

first off i'd go get the new drivers...for the 770...and the new dx8 of course...then start tweaking...the "sync thing" syncs the screen before display...with it off you'll notice tearing..like when you turn real fast in a first person shooter...alot of the settings in the display panel are for visual effect..which in turn effect framerate...i'm sure on diamonds page you could find an explaination of some of the 3d features...settings depends alot on the rest of your sys...just play around till you get the best visual quality with a good framerate...using 3dmark2001 isn't a bad way to measure performance differences....

What drivers should I be getting for the card? I checked the diamond site and unless I'm blind, they don't support videocards anymore. I don't see anything there for the Viper 770.

Also...what is "3dmark2001" and where can it be found?

If you run Windows 2000, you'll have to download the Nvidia drivers for the 770, you can find them HERE.

If you are using Win98 or Millenium you can download the drivers HERE.

I'm running ME so now know which ones to get.

I hope this works. The game "Driver" (which seems pretty cool) stutters like hell and I more that double the minimum requirements for the game so I'm hoping its adjustments to the 770 that will fix this problem.
