I'm sorry man, the score I posted above are for 640x480x16 settings. BUT, that is even better because the lower the res, the more it shows off what the CPU can do, NOT the video card. I would actually consider this the REAL way to test your CPU on 3DMark2001.

Oh yes it is the thing is that AMD is going to have an Palomino that is running at 1.5Ghz on sale one month form now and intel is not going to have the P4 2.3Ghz one moth form now hahahahahahahah
Hahahaha all you want, but your thread title holds no water.
P4 systems do in FACT hold the "3DMark2001 record".
Sorry.
You can hope that the Palimino changes things, but for now you shouldn't make such completely unsubstantiated and easily disproved claims; you're wrong.

Nope I am saying that people with thoes high scores have some problems .
For members who think that 3DMARK is reputable benchmark (@ any resolution) I would suggest them to find some CAD benchmarks and then to test power of Intel and AMD systems.
P4 and Athlon are very different CPUs and they make very diffrent systems, and it is hard to say who is better, but for me answer is obvious. AMD with Athlon core is better CPU.

Yo might say that but that leads me to my conclusion

If that was the point (and I'm quite sure it was), then you very much failed in your endeavor.
You'd be better served to try a different approach, because this one certainly falls squarely on it's face- as has been repeatedly and clearly shown.
This thread was a very poor and uninformed attempt to make your intended point.
If you want to tout the Athlon, then throw out some 3DSMAX benches... or something that the Athlon exceeds at; don't hobble your own arguments with contradictory benchmarks!
