I've seen preorders for Asus V8200 PURE for $420.00 and V8200 DELUXE for $457.00 locally.

Yeah, I`ve seen all the preorder prices but, I`ve heard the yields are much better than expected and nVidia is lowering the price of the chips to the vendors.

Reports of $400 and less are circulating.

Hey, that's a pretty good marketing policy- drop the price from $600 to $400 and get people to say "wow! only $400? That's cheap for a GeForce3!" even though $400 is an insane amount of money for a graphics card, considering the market... I wonder how we'd feel if the initial price was set at $250 and then raised to $400 at release?

And you still can't play quake at 1600x1200 with full-screen anti-aliasing, heh

Do you NEED fsaa @ 1600x1200? Those pixels are teeneeweenee. I have a clunky Voodoo 3000 that does nothing fancy so I'm just curious. Also what looks better: lower resolution w/ FSAA, or higher resolution w/ no FSAA?

BTW, I don't think FSAA is even necessary at 16x12... for that matter, I don't miss it at anything above 10x7.

I have no idea why anyone would want to use FSAA at 16x12.

Okay so you don't need fsaa @ 16x12 but for that much money (I consider $400 a lot of money) wouldn't you expect the vc to give you ridiculous performance?

There's been an auction at Ebay now that has Geforce 3. The seller offer Visiontek, Guillemot Prophet III & Elsa. The price now has gone up to $350 or more. Shipping is free.
I've been bidding but the price is too much for me. Better wait a while once retail prices stabilize
