WINDOWS: What the Hell?

I need help desperately, windows wont fully load. Bios will post and it will go through most of the loading (slowly, though) but just before its about to finish and display my background, it freezes. I used to be able to get around this by booting in safe mode then restarting, but then i installed via.ver28 and it that wont even work all the time. i dont know what the problem is.

Is this a hardware or software problem? i dont think its an irq conflict.

i need help please.

Will the system boot to safe mode?

If it will, take out all the cards but the video card and boot the machine.

Install the others one at a time till the machine doesn't boot.

When it screws up you have your problem child detected.

what type of power supply do you have? Also, what are your settings on your mobo for the core voltage and multiplier settings at? Try default if you have them set to manual.

If you do not have enough power running to the core that can cause the problem you descibe. Also, if it is windos ME or 2k then there are no irq problems...suposidly. Microsoft assigns all of the devices to one irq and then has a seperate controller for it that is supposed to handle everything without a hitch. If you do have 2k or ME then make sure that your bios is set for a plug-and-play bios and set for yes.

I had the same problem with W98 and I had to look in the system.ini to check which drivers or programs were loaded.

I then commented the drivers/programs. It still didn't work: I had to rename the directory where they resided in order to not allow Win**** to try to start them (I suppose Win**** knew it had to load them, and modifying the system.ini wasn't sufficient enough).

I rebooted and started in normal mode and resinstalled my progrs: and everything ran perfectly!!!

thanks for you help i'm going to remove all my cards to find the problem. Hopefully it'll work, if it doesnt i might have to get linux, cause win**** really lives up to its name.
