I got a Cretive TNT 2 (32meg non-Ultra)
It's an awsome overall card, getting a bit old though... otherwise, no complaints.
It's rock-stable in my Atlon 700.. i did however had to mess around with drivers b4 i found the ones that worked best (Detonator 5.32 for me). + U can try Overclocking it too.
P.S. U realy shoud do justice for your GIG CPU & get a faster Vid Card (like a Geforce2 GTS), beef-up your gameplay
TNT2U has been a great card, but I am itching for an upgrade to a GTS card You should be able to squeeze a little bit out of the card by overclocking. Good luck and enjoy the new system!

You actually expected your desktop to look different. By the way, Voodoo2's don't even effect your desktop. Did you think that all of your little icons were going to start dancing around in 3D or what??
A TNT2 is 2 years ago news. That card being packaged with new systems causes me to lose what little respect I had for the Oem's. It may even be the M64 version also. I'm willing to bet if its a Sony or a HP.
Build your own like me and Deanril. It isn't exactly rocket science. And you could pick your components. Not let them do it for you and find that the better card is not in stock. You'd also save a lot of money and have a much better understanding of the system. A much faster system.
Oem's suck. Don't you know that? They make probably 500-1500 off of every system that they sell. Dell is the biggest ripoff/markup along with Compac who just uses crap parts.
Have you ever heard a compac computer. Sounds like there some serious work going on in there huh? That little guy is punching away at his keyboard in there!
i expected my desktop 2 look more stunning/sharper, i av seen other peoples desktop and it looks better than mine!!
i got it on 1280x1034 and 16-bit,
i dont keep it on 32-bit cos the icon colour goes all wierd on me..
those of u who have this video card, wot drivers have u got i have 3.84 from wot it says here but i went 2 the Nvidia site 2 get the latest drivers and i got this stuff..
"NVIDIA's Detonator 3 (D3) instantly increases the processing power of your NVIDIA-based graphics accelerators by up to 50%. You'll be amazed at how much faster and better your games, multimedia, and other 3D applications will run. In addition to significant performance increases, D3's "
its thier new driver, i am downloading it now but wanted 2 know if n e else has chnaged 2 these drivers and if it had an effect or not? b4 i do n e thing...
cheers

I just built a cheap sys for a kid & put in a used TNT-2 ULTRA I got here HWC for $75.00,
first installed the ole drivers on CD, they sucked, so then got the new DET III's, real fast but not too stable with DX7, tried ver 649 and they rock! no problems at all, it flies through all games, TNT's are still good if you find one cheap enough, but you can get a Geforce II MX for $103.00 now.
Get an MX at a minumum. The ATI Radeon SDR would be a good step up from that at minimal cost. If you want the games to look good the Radeon 32mb DDR would be better than GTS. In 64mb the Radeon is both better and cheaper.
If your display is crap try lowing the resolution, upping the refresh rate.
Also, it maybe a cheap monitor. .26 dot-pitch is minimum really.
And TNT2 are out of date (says him with a V3, but piss off, getting MX on Thurs :P). Take out the card, take to your local store, explain it's brand new, get some cash and goto buy.com or something and buy a GeForce 2 or Radeon for £100.
Athlon XP Barton 2500+ @ 2,075 GHz
MSI K7N2-Delta ILSR
2x SATA 80GB Maxtor Plus 9 in a RAID Mirror
512 MB Crucial PC2700 DDR
ATI Radeon 9000 Pro 64MB
Logitech Z-560
Relisys TL766B 17" TFT
Windows 2000 Professional
I have a Riva TNT 2 Ultra 32 Meg, I don't have to complain of anything. The only bad thing is that is king of OUT of date. Since the realise of the GPU, almost all of the software coming out, if optimize for GPU.
Why not a Gforce MX? at least has GPU. If u want a TNT, I can sell u mine....
