Ok had a Annihilator Pro the fan went out, had the replacement plan, gotta voodoo 5500. installed great and ran ok (except for a little slower, probably would have been fine) on my dual boot ME/2000 system. Peer pressure led me to believe I needed to get the G2 chipset card while I had the replacement offer at hand. I went back and got an annihilator 2 with the geforce 2 GTS chipset. It crashed 2000 and I got duplicate windows on ME. I have reinstalled 2000 3 times. (formatted even) I reinstalled ME once then went back to the slow on My DSL win 98. (I use these two OS's because of the speeds I get after tweaking that I can't get with win98, and the 2000 for IIS I use to control my webservers at work from home) After the 98 install I installed the drivers from the disk. Open GL crash in Unreal tourney. direct 3d crash. reinstall windows. (eliminate driver problems) tried the drivers from nvidia detonator 3. same thing. reinstalled 2k tried the detonator. 2000 wont load again except in VGA. Please Help. I don't want to go back to the slow voodoo but at least it worked. Thanks.
Ok.well nobody replied. I got back the voodoo 5500 today and it is working great. I know I didn't include my sys info maybe thats why nobody responded. Asus K7V 850 proc 256 megs step 133 ram (got with a bunk proc first of the year)Kenwood 62x maxtor 13.6 and 20.0 first 6 system rest striped on win 2k, soundblaster live antec full tower p303. air traffic controllers here and there. Now happily married to a 3DFX card.
By the way, I got the latest drivers and the speeds came way up in benchmarks. The clean install may have helped too. So far all of my games play great.
