I just recieved my first VooDoo card and things seem to be a whole lot different than nVidia cards.
First, why can't I set my desktop resolution any higher than 640x480? I can't set it any higher in UT either without it crashing.
I have the lastest drivers from 3dfx, the install went less than perfect but now appear to be working. I uninstalled my previous nVidia drivers and tried to use the new ones I downloaded, but I didn't realize it was in a zip form and the auto detect/install couldn't read them that way so I abourted that and installed them directly from the file I downloaded. It then asked me To place the V3 3000 cd in and it loaded the earlier drivers( don't know what went wrong there). I restarted and loaded the Newest drivers I have Device Manager says it is Ver. 4.12.01.1225. The previous drivers were 4.11.01.1225(if I am remembering correctly). Should I Uninstall the drivers and start all over again?
So far I have mixed impressions of the VooDoo3 3000. UT at 640x480 with High Detail looks pretty good, but it doesn't seem to have all the features that nVidia has.
